Introduction

Welcome to this West Midlands Deanery course on Safeguarding Children. The following six case studies will give you the opportunity to see how you would respond to different situations that you may encounter as a healthcare practitioner. As you progress through each, you will be given feedback that will also link to other useful resources. You may also view all of these resources by selecting the Resources tab, below.

You are free to view these materials without taking the assessment. However if you are from the West Midlands Deanery, you will be expected to complete it and attain a pass mark. This will enable you to print (or save) a Certificate of Completion.

You may complete the case studies in any order. Each one will take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

We suggest you begin by viewing the Introduction module.

If you are from the West Midlands Deanery, you will be required to complete a questionnaire at the end of the assessment module, before you can access your Certificate of Completion.  For all other users, we would be very grateful if you would answer the questionnaire even if you do not undertake the assessment.
